In case the Insured suffers an illness or an accident, the Insurer will take charge:
a) The amount of the cost of transportation by ambulance to the nearest clinic or hospital.
b) Prior control by the Insurer's Medical Team, in contact with the doctor who treats the injured or sick Insured, to determine the appropriate measures for the best treatment to be followed and the most suitable means for their transfer to the most appropriate hospital center or to your home.
c) The amount of the travel expenses originated by the place of the first assistance, the injured or sick person, by the most appropriate means of transport, to the hospital center prescribed, and authorized by the Insurer, or to their habitual residence. In the event of hospitalization in a hospital center not close to your home, the Insurer will take charge, at the time of the insured's medical discharge, of the subsequent transfer to his or her habitual residence or to a vacation destination.
The means of transport used will be organized according to the pathology of the insured. When the urgency and seriousness of the case so require, repatriation may be carried out by special medical plane if the patient is in Europe and countries bordering the Mediterranean. In any other place, it will be carried out by scheduled plane.
In order to verify that the care received is appropriate, the Insurer's Medical Team will be in contact with the Health Center where the Insured is being treated.
Transportation or repatriation of the Insured and / or Insured Companions
a) When one or more of the Insured has been transferred or repatriated due to illness or accident in accordance with the guarantee of transport or sanitary repatriation of the injured or sick, the Insurer will take charge of the transport of up to two insured companions for the return from them to the place of their habitual residence or to the place where the transferred or repatriated Insured is hospitalized, as well as their subsequent transfer to their home. The Insurer is subrogated to the rights of the insured for the return tickets initially planned.
b) If the Insured referred to in the preceding paragraph a), were under 15 years of age or disabled and did not have a relative or trusted person to accompany them on the trip, the Insurer will make a person available to them. to travel with them to their place of residence or to where the Insured is hospitalized.
c) In the event that the insured, once his / her state of health has been restored (under the supervision of the medical team that has attended him and in agreement with the insurer's medical team) is allowed to rejoin the travel plan, the Insurer will charge of the expenses of said reinstatement for himself and the insured companions who have availed themselves of this guarantee.
Transportation or repatriation of deceased
a) The Insurer will take charge of all the formalities to be carried out at the place of death of the Insured, as well as their transportation or repatriation to the place of burial in their country of habitual residence.
b) The Insurer will take charge of the transportation of the insured family members to the place of burial. Likewise, the insurer is subrogated to the rights of the insured for the return tickets initially planned.
c) If the insured companions are under 15 or disabled and do not have a relative or trusted person to accompany them on the trip, the Insurer will make a person available to them to travel with them to the place of burial.
